Description
(30 Inch shown)
Designed by John M. Browning, Winchester’s High-Wall single-shot rifle began life at the end of the buffalo hunting era and made its name in the golden age of target shooting before World War I. One of the great American hunting rifles, the High-Wall’s strong falling block action, protected by a high steel frame, allowed production in a tremendous range of calibers. Uberti offers a line of High-Wall rifles including the round-barreled Carbine, the octagon-barreled Sporting Rifle with straight grip, and the Special Sporting Rifle offered with straight or checkered pistol grip. Blackpowder cartridge rifle silhouette shooters will want to try the Special Sporting Rifle with checkered grip. The 1885 High-Wall is chambered in three of the classic buffalo hunting cartridges of the 1870s – .45-70 Government and new for 2005, .45-90 and .45″ inch octagon barrel, 45-70, smooth stock.
