Description
The bird’s head style grip first appeared on Colt derringers and the little Old Line and House Pistols of the early 1870s. In 1875 the bird’s head grip was incorporated into a new full-sized Colt revolver and the new shooting iron immediately became popular with lawmen and gun slingers alike. One of the Old West’s most famous pistoleros, “Billy The Kid,” liked the design and started packing a bird’s head Colt.
Uberti has recreated the look and feel of the classic bird’s head Colt with the 1873 Cattleman Bird’s Head available in 3-1/2″, 4″, 4-1/2″, and 5″ barrel lengths.
