Springfield Armory’s EMP (Enhanced Micro Pistol) changes what a compact 1911 can be. The action of the EMP is 1/8-inch shorter than that of the original 1911 and its shorter grip radius produces a shockingly comfortable shooting experience. The EMP comes loaded with all the features you expect in a 1911 of this class like low profile 3-Dot tritium combat sights and a match grade fully supported and ramped barrel.The EMP Lightweight Champion with Concealed Carry Contour model improves on the original by combining a longer barrel with a frame trimmed for ultimate concealment. The bevel cut on the mainspring housing does a lot more than one might think. The rounded contour molds to the shape of the shooters hand, preventing “palm bite” during fire. For carry, the contoured shape helps to prevent snags during the draw and virtually eliminates the telltale bulge under a cover garment. It utilizes a four-inch, stainless steel barrel housed in a forged stainless steel slide and forged aluminum alloy frame. Checkered black G-10 grip panels combine a slip-free hold, while both front and rear strap frame surfaces feature a smooth, but effective, Posi-Lok texturing pattern. It comes packaged in a premium carry case with three nine-round magazines.
