Description
We like our pistol caliber carbines, but we also like our rifle caliber pistols. Chambered in 5.56 NATO, the PLR16 is an excellent option for small game hunting, hiking, turning heads at range day or any situation that requires a rifle caliber in a pistol platform. It accepts standard AR-15 magazines and it’s ready for customization to fit your needs. See our PLR16 accessories page.
Construction
- The PLR16 is made of 4140 steel where it matters and high-strength, impact resistant Zytel where it sheds pounds. Take it hunting, mountain climbing, camping, back country exploring or whatever you can throw at it. The PLR16 is light, but she can handle it.
Modular
- Although we do not recommend suppressing the PLR16, it features a 9″ barrel that is threaded 1/2×28 to accommodate your choice of compensator or flash hider. We also offer an optional compact forend, sling mount and arm brace adapter kit to set it up for your needs. Iron sights are provided, however there’s an integrated Picatinny-style rail for mounting your favorite optic.
Compact
- In usual KelTec fashion, the PLR16 offers a lightweight, compact solution to a rifle caliber problem. Although it has a stout, smooth and reliable gas system, this pistol stows nicely in a pack and comes with a flush-fit 10 round lead dispenser. Or, you can run any AR-15 compatible magazines.
