Single action revolver. 1875 General George Wheeler Schofield made changes to the Model No. 3 American and Russian design improving the function of the model for use by the U.S. Cavalry. Latch can be operated with the shooting hand while on horseback. Spent cases are automatically ejected. Blue steel frame and barrel with case hardened hammer, latch and trigger guard.
